Article 8 : call in
8.1 Any employee recalled to work by the University after he left the University's property following his normal work day shall be paid either a minimum of four (4) hours at straight time or at rate of double (2) time the hourly rate after two (2) hours, whichever is the greater. When an employee normally stationed at Guindon Hall (including the Alta Vista Campus) is recalled to work by the employer after he has left the University's property following his normal work day, he shall be paid either a minimum of four (4) hours at straight time or at the rate of double (2) times the hourly rate after two (2) hours, whichever is the greater.
8.2 Employees called back between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. receive either a minimum of five (5) hours' pay at the regular rate or overtime pay whichever amount is greater. The time appearing on the work order is the reference for determining the exact call-back time. If the University asks a called-in employee to do a second call-back, the employee is paid for two call-backs.
If the University asks a called-in employee to do a second call-back and that the employee is still on the worksite, the employee is paid for a minimum of two (2) hours for the second call-back, and if applicable, two (2) hours per subsequent call.
8.3 Employees from the Maintenance Division who finish their call-back work within six hours (6) before their regular shift starts, can take six (6) hours of rest time (at regular rates), including all premiums except overtime, without affecting wages associated to regular schedule. Employees cannot take paid rest time if they are called at home after 5 a.m. When employees finish or continue their call-back work after their regular shift has begun, they can, until no later than 9 a.m., leave the workplace to take their rest period while being paid at their regular rate. The time clock is the point of reference employees must use to validate the times at which they both left and returned to their scheduled work. Employees are also responsible for reporting to their immediate supervisor the time at which they returned to work after their rest period. Employees who do not use the time clock to confirm their arrivals and departures cannot take advantage of the six (6) hour rest time.
When employees normally stationed at Guindon Hall (including the Alta Vista campus) are called back to work at the main campus (including the 200 Lees) after having completed their normal scheduled workday, they receive a minimum of five (5) hours' pay at the regular rate or overtime pay, whichever amount is greater. Employees called back to the main campus (including the 200 Lees) between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. receive either a minimum of six (6) hours' pay at the regular rate or overtime pay, whichever amount is greater.

The University will provide these employees a means of communication such as a pager, telephone or other.
Two (2) failures to reach an employee or two (2) refusals from that employee to accept the call in will result in that employee being removed from the call list for a period of twelve (12) months.
Any employee on sick leave for more than one (1) week or on annual leave status will not be eligible to be on the call list or paid a weekly allowance.
8.5 Time and one half (1 ½) shall not be paid for attendance at training sessions or other conferences.
