Article 23 : severance pay and lay-offs
23.1 The University will notify the Union five in writing (5) months in advance of the date employees may be laid-off. Affected employees will be notified of a permanent lay-off five (5) months in advance or such employees will receive payment of five (5) months’ notice in lieu-of or an amount proportional to the period of notice not completed. In the event of employee’s reduction due to technical and/or administrative changes, severance pay will be paid according to the period of continuous service in the Bargaining Unit, as followed:
