Year’s Maximum Pensionable Earnings (YMPE)

This is the amount the government sets each year, and uses to base your contributions to (as well as your benefits from) the Canada Pension Plan or Quebec Pension Plan. In 2024, the YMPE is $68,500. Annual changes to the YMPE are based on increases in average Canadian industrial wages.
