Insurance for visitors and returning Canadians (UHIP)

The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) offers a health insurance at an affordable rate to newcomers and their families. Coverage is similar to that of the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), including medical and hospital expenses as well as standard medical visits during your stay in Canada.

International students, exchange students, visiting students, guest professors/researchers, Canadians returning from abroad, and new Canadian residents who are not yet covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (or the plan in effect in their province of residence) AND have a contract of employment or service with the University must take out UHIP insurance.
