Article 8 : wages and paid leaves

8.1 Each month, the University will forward to the president of the lifeguard local a revised copy of the schedule.

8.2 The University makes all the efforts to pay the employees in a reasonable delay. If it is impossible to pay the employee at the calendar date of pay, the University makes sure to pay the employee, at the latest, on the next pay.

8.3 In the event of a payroll error where an employee was overpaid, the University shall notify the employee as soon as possible. Unless an agreement has been reached with the employeee within 30 days if the overpayment notification, the University shall subtract the moneys owed up to a maximum of 30% of the gross pay, starting with the first paycheque that follows, until the overpayment is paid back.

8.4 In the event of termination of employment or other similiar cases, the University can take the amount of overpayment from the moneys owed to the employee at the time of his last pay.

8.5 The salaries by job classification are listed in Appendix B.

8.6 When an employee temporarily assumes most of the task of the Manager, the employee will be paid at the minimum wage listed in the wage schedule for that position.

8.7 The University of Ottawa shall provide employees with the list of pay dates; this list shall be posted on the Union bulletin board located in the Lifeguard office.

8.8 For any payroll error, the University is responsible for paying the employee in a reasonable time, within a maximum of two (2) months.

8.9 Statutory holidays, annual leaves and personal emergency leaves are paid according to the rules set out in the Ontario Employment Standards.
