Employment Insurance Premium Reduction

This letter confirms the agreement between the University and the Union that the 5/12th employee portion of the University’s E.I. premium reduction will be retained by the University.

The University will cover the salary and benefits of an additional Bargaining Unit Executive Committee Member to perform union business for the duration of the collective agreement starting May 1st 2016.

The Bargaining Unit Executive Committee Member retains all the rights and privileges set out in the Agreement as though he had remained in his position. At least thirty (30) calendar days in advance, the President will advise Human Resources, Labour Relations, in writing who will be the Executive Committee Member on leave to perform union business. Tihrty (30) calendar days of notice is required for the employee to return to his position at the University.
