Sick leave

Sick leave is available for periods when you are unable to perform your regular work duties due to illness or an accident.

When you will be absent from work, you must notify your immediate supervisor at least two hours before the start of your shift. From September 1 to April 30, if your shift is scheduled to start between 5:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., you must phone the head lifeguard on duty, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the evening before your shift, to request a replacement.

Medical examination

At any time during your sick leave, the University may require that you undergo an independent medical examination by a University-appointed doctor to determine if you are eligible for sick leave benefits. The University pays for the examination.
